L’Àrea de Salut Mental de l’Hospital Universitari Vall d’Hebron ofereix una atenció integral al llarg de totes les etapes de la vida, des de la infància fins a l’edat adulta. Inclou dispositius d’hospitalització infantil, juvenil i d’adults, així com la col·laboració amb l’Hospital Sant Rafael dins la Unitat Integrada de Psiquiatria. També compta amb interconsultes hospitalàries, consultes externes, hospitals de dia, programes d’atenció domiciliària i una secció d’addiccions amb centre comunitari especialitzat, garantint continuïtat assistencial i atenció personalitzada.
L’àrea aposta per la innovació i la digitalització amb la incorporació de noves tecnologies i la parametrització de dades assistencials per millorar la comunicació, la seguretat i el seguiment dels pacients. Destaca el projecte de parametrització d’escales clíniques en trastorns psicòtics, bipolars, de personalitat i TDAH, amb previsió d’ampliar-lo a altres patologies.
